Various recs and thoughts
There's been a bunch of really good comics over at
fancomiccentral, so I thought I'd link them plus another I was reminded of and mention some thinky thoughts.
First, Good Omens:
Second, Disney:
This last one is what prompted my thinky thoughts: this sort of story is really not my thing (all that older man seeing feisty young innocent girl as his "prize" etc) But I really enjoyed the fancomic sections, and eventually just skimmed to read them. I think part of it is that the author's sense of humour is better suited to comics than prose, and part is that the artist is very good, but still I definitely enjoyed it much more than I would have the same story/art separately. Also, the Good Omens fancomics reminded me of
puzzlebleuink: I adore the illustrated fanfic but I do not enjoy it in the same way as I do fancomics, even ones that objectively aren't quite as awesome.
I guess this soft spot for fancomics above other media is why I made this comm :) Anyone else feel the same way?

First, Good Omens:
- black and white is a slight but cute Pollution/Famine comic, it stopped after a few comics
- The prologue and Pages 54 - 58. Adaptation rather than fancomic so not really appropriate for this comm but significant for me since I tried drawing my own adaptation of the prologue once. This is much better :D
- Good Omens by SerenitysRiver An adaptation of one of the early chapters
Second, Disney:
- Rescue Rangers: of Mice and Mayhem A surprisingly engaging Chip/Gadget adventure.
- When Curiosity met Insanity A mix of fanfic and fancomics. Rather romance novel-ish Alice/Hatter, based on the Disney movie not the book.
