This is apparently based on popular children's book I've never heard of, but is cute even without the context. One could intepret this as "illustrated fanfic" but I say, it has that many speech bubbles, it's a comic :)
(Although I can't help but feel there's something transphobic going on with the last page, I'm going to charitably conclude that I'm missing some context thanks to not having watched that much "Due South")
